🎯 Interview Tip of the Week
If there's one interview question that makes me want to dive under the nearest desk, it's "So, tell me about yourself!".
Like okay, do you want the iconic saga starting wtih my first breath, or just the dirty deets about why my boss drives me up the wall and I'm on the hunt for greener pastures?
And the worst part? Every single one of the five interviewers will make you perform this little song and dance.
Here's the winning formula for nailing this question that you should craft, stash in your mental Tory Burch Lee Radziwill work tote, and whip out anytime someone throws this question your way.
Your answer to this question should be structured, engaging, and tailored to the role. Here’s a repeatable formula that works every time:
The P.A.R. Method (Present, Accomplishments, Relevance)
1.Present – Who you are and what you do now.
2.Accomplishments – Key achievements that showcase your impact. (IMPORTANT)
3.Relevance – How your experience aligns with the role and why you’re excited about it.
Example Answer Using This Formula:
(1) Present:
“I’m an experienced Executive Assistant with a strong background in supporting C-suite executives, streamlining operations, and optimizing productivity. Currently, I work at [Company], where I support [job title(s) of your leader], overseeing high-priority projects, and acting as a strategic partner.”
(2) Accomplishments:
“One of my proudest achievements was implementing a new workflow that reduced scheduling conflicts by 40% and freed up executive time for high-impact work. I’ve also successfully managed board meetings, offsites, and confidential projects with precision.”
Side bar - Take a moment to reflect on the projects you've successfully completed or the significant improvements you've made for the company. It might feel like extracting a tooth, since your humility is part of what makes you successful in this profession, but now is the time to own your achievements and confidently share why you're outstanding in your field.⬇️

(3) Relevance:
“What excites me about this opportunity is your company’s dynamic leadership team and focus on efficiency. I thrive in fast-paced environments where I can anticipate needs and drive seamless operations, and I believe my proactive approach would make a strong impact here.”
Why This Works:
✅ Concise & Impactful – Keeps it under 90 seconds
✅ Highlights Value – Shows clear achievements, not just job duties
✅ Tailored to Role – Connects past experience to the company’s needs
